With a variety of subjects and grades available, SOS elective students will enjoy the change of pace and the chance to learn more about topics they're interested in.
SOS Civil War features five high school units that give students an in-depth look at the events surrounding this major turning point in American history. Beginning with the events that led up to the war, Civil War shows how major points of contention between the North and South intensified and eventually resulted in the secession of the South and the start of the Civil War.
Students will study the lives of Abraham Lincoln; Northern and Southern generals; what daily life was like for a soldier; examine decisive battles and troop movements on interactive maps; and gain an understanding of the importance of strategy in war. The Reconstruction is also covered. 5 units plus review unit and final exam. Grades 9-12.
