I find the Apoligia Science courses to be excellent. I have a Science background and could tell that it did contain the material that I wanted included. I have a son that went on and is a mechanical engineer and a daughter that is a nurse and it gave them the foundation that they needed.

See what supplemental items are available. We bought the audio version of the text (along with the text) for my child to put onto her ipod. That way she could get the information in a way that fit her learning style.

This is a fantastic program albeit difficult for an average student. The student must have some desire to actively pursue the course because the content is more advanced by nature and no amount of threatening or cajoling will motive him otherwise.

You will need to have a working knowledge of the subject matter in order to make the most of this curriculum. I liked to have another science oriented book with more illustrations than the ones in the textbook in order to have more examples available when we were unsure about a topic we were reading about in the text.
