Another Blessing

Another Blessing is the first release with this new formation of Three Bridges, and it is a fantastic collection of tunes that have a broad range of styles and lyrical topics. Another Blessing kicks off with the traditional Southern Gospel flair of "Step Back On the Rock" before moving into the country flavor of "I Get To" (a cover of Blue County's hit song). The group continues trying out different styles before moving into the Black Gospel tinged "Straiten It Out" and middle-of-the-road balladry on the Eddy Bolton original "Took His Breath Away" - a song describing the journey from death to heaven. Three Bridges' fantastic cover of the Bob Dylan classic "Gotta Serve Somebody" is not to be missed, while the Aaron Wilburn penned "Just the Beginning For Me" showcases the guys in a more traditional setting thanks to Elliott's strong baritone vocals. The guys get straight up country on the Ronny Hinson tune "My Do Good God". Lead singer Scott Johnson pulls of the more straight-up Black Gospel tunes really well, but he shows there's more to his voice than that style on this bluesy-country song. Overall, Another Blessing proves to be another fantastic recording from one of Southern Gospel's fastest rising talents - and it's also a great introduction to the new members of the group to old friends. These guys have a knack for choosing great songs that translate well in a live setting and on radio. It's good to know that this group hasn't seen its last days. There's just too much talent here to go ignored.
