The Modern English Version is a literal, or formal equivalence, translation. Drawing from the Textus Receptus and the Jacob be Hayyim edition of the Masoretic Text, the MEV uses the King James Version as the base manuscript. The MEV seeks to provide the Biblical text with clear, reverent, and accurate detail. For more information on the different Bible translations, view our Bible Translation Guide.
