Discover the amazing story behind the creation and construction o the world's first and only museum dedicated to the Bible.
Lifting of the Bible provides firsthand accounts that bring the Museum's creation to life, retelling the complete background of the Museum, including the colorful stories of the Museum's characters, concept, collection, and construction. It may be difficult to even imagine that an old refrigeration warehouse built in 1923 could be turned into a museum, let alone one that is filled with priceless artifacts, amazing displays, incredible architecture, and state of the art technology.
The museum started as a simple idea in the minds of a handful of determined individuals. Before long, more and more partners were eager to become a part of this vision. Many brainstorming sessions and sketches were eventually fleshed out into a plan that took shape. Now it is here, the museum that is for everyone who wants to learn more about the amazing document known as the Bible.
The Museum of the Bible stands as the largest single museum under one roof in Washington D.C., and the first in the world to focus on honoring the Bible. Guests who visit will receive an immersive and innovative experience as they are given the chance to see the Bible in a whole new light.
