One of my favorite things to do when TobyMac comes out with a new cd is to listen to his son (formerly TRUDOG, now TRU MAC)and hear his track. I have a daughter about the same age as him and to listen to how he has developed helps me to realize just how special my children are to me. Tru's track, Mac Daddy, is amazing and I could not believe my ears upon hearing how his voice has changed since the last cd. That song set the tone for me for the rest of Toby's album. With "Eye On It", Toby has dedicated many tracks to his love of his family. "Made For Me" is a love song for his wife, while the song "Family",focuses on staying together, even when you are apart. The overall tone of this album compared to his others is more mellow. There are more "island" beat songs similar to "Break Open The Sky" from his "Tonight" Album. "Steal My Show" is a cry for the Lord to have his way in Toby's life at anytime. The most upbeat songs on the cd that are similar to "Tonight" or anything from his previous albums are "Eye On It" that features Britt Nicole in some amazing background vocals and "Unstoppable" that features the amazing voice of Blanca from Group1Crew. Because this album is more mellow with its tracks, it really appeals more to people who may like "City On Our Knees" or "Lose My Soul" without the rest of the tracks on those cd's while still giving classic Toby fans a few tracks that they would cling to.
