Description of Gods at War by Kyle Idleman

Many of us worry about normal, everyday issues such as financial security, the safety and health of our families, the desire for affection, self-image, and more. But could these "normal" issues really be ugly idols in disguise?

In Gods at War, Kyle Idleman addresses the issue of idolatry in the lives of believers by asking insightful questions that will help you determine which false gods are striving to sit on the throne of your heart. By sharing true and powerful testomonies of those who have struggled with the idols of money, sex, success, food and romance, Idleman clears away the cultural baggage of the 21st century to expose these gods for what they are - rivals to our unhindered devotion to Christ. Discover the freedom that awaits you when you allow the true God to reside unchallenged in your heart and life.

5 StarsWill Be Reading More From Kyle Idleman!
My husband and I both loved this book. Kyle Idleman's writing style is both powerful and relaxed, an unlikely combination that makes his challenging words a pleasure to read. Idleman argues that the root of every sin is idolatry - the one commandment that 99% of Christians would argue they don't struggle with. I was a little skeptical about his stance at first, but his research is thorough, his case is compelling, and his conclusions are nothing short of rip-your-heart-out convicting (in a good way!) Perhaps my favorite part of this book was that Idleman deeply challenged my walk with God - sometimes so deeply that it hurt - while simultaneously making me laugh out loud. "Gods At War" is Scripturally sound, well-written, challenging, and honestly had much more depth than I was expecting. I will be looking for more from Kyle Idleman!
