This Introduction to Speleology and Paleontology Curriculum Guide
contains materials for use with The Cave Book and The Fossil Book in the Wonders of Creation series. 1 year of Science for 1/2 credit when following one of the recommended flexible schedules.
Each suggested weekly schedule has two to three easy-to-manage lessons which combine reading, worksheets, and vocabulary-building opportunities including an expanded glossary for each book. Designed to allow your student to be independent, the materials in this resource are divided by section so parents can remove quizzes, tests, and answer keys before beginning the coursework.
Workflow: Students will read the pages in their book and then complete each section of the study guide worksheets. Tests are given at regular intervals with space to record each grade. Younger students may be given the option of taking open book tests.
By reading The Cave Book and completing the worksheets, students will learn a creationist perspective on the importance of caves and the role caves have played in human history, as well as the different types of animals that live in caves, their creation, and more.
By reading The Fossil Book and completing its worksheets, topics covered include how coal and oil are formed, the creation of the Grand Canyon, how to interpret the geologic column from a creationist perspective, and how to identify various fossils, and more.
