This is a great writing curriculum. It present writing in short easy step. The lesson for each week reviews the previous skills and adds a new one. By the end of the book, the student can produce a terrific essay. When used over successive years (4th-7th) grade, the child becomes a proficient writer, able to write essays, research papers and free writes. I highly recommend the Writing with Research and Style DVD by Andrew Pudewa for the parent before beginning the program. it explains the 'whys' of the program.

This particular curriculum, Language Development Through Poetry Memorization, is truly commendable! I look forward to more IEW curriculum as my children mature.

This is a very rigorous program, but it yeilds amazing results. It is not hard to impliment, but watching the training videos is EXTREMELY helpful to understand how the program is set up and what the big picture goals are.

What I really liked about this curriculum is that it instructs you on a particular writing skill, then gives you a chance to practice it in a piece that they've already chosen. My child can focus on learning the skill without having to think about coming up with a story at the same time. The writing pieces the company chose are engaging and interesting to my child. At the beginning he said, 'This seems more like a science class'! So far, it has been able to keep my child's attention and engage him. We've had no issues with writing using this curriculum.

This is fantastic curriculum and a great writing course. Love how it breaks the writing down and uses an outline. Love the resource sheets, like wwasia, and word banks. I do wish the videos were segmented or online. Its not easy to just pick up and teach it does require sometimes too much prep work. If it were more organized in the lesson plans, it would be very helpful.
