Description of Who in the World was the Unready King? by Connie Clark

Why did one of the last Anglo-Saxon kings of England leave his throne when Sweyn Forkbeard and the Vikings invaded? In less than forty years, England changed hands forever. How did the life of the boy-king Etheired change English history? Connie Clark's biography of the king who paved the way for the Viking invasion asnwers these questions, while Jed Mickle's ingenious and energetic illustrations give us a fresh look at Etheired and the colorful men and women who surreounded him during his reign.

It is a great curriculum to reinforce classical history. It may be used as a stand-alone curriculum or we used it in conjuction with our Classical Conversations history.

I like that it provides a comprehensive, chronological study of history which can be used for a variety of ages. There are plenty of suggestions for ways to engage all different kinds of learners in the activity book. And there are very quick, easy projects as well as some which require more time and effort. I love that I seem to be learning so much right along with my children as well.

If you are interested in using a classical/charlotte mason style intruction, The Story of the World fits nicely. Narration cues are offered, as are plenty of outside/extra reading materials. Our main issue has been finding many of the outside reading materials.
