In their first album featuring new front man Michael Tait of dcTalk fame, the Newsboys live up to the pressure that inevitably accompanies a major band restructuring. Though the move was risky, the collaboration is proved successful in Born Again. Rather than merely copy the band’s past formula of combining endearingly eccentric lyrics with rousing musical accompaniment, Tait shakes things up a bit with a heavy rock/pop influence. The end result is an updated sound that retains the musical charm of the Newsboys but invokes a surprisingly fresh interpretation.
