The Cultural Geography program from Bob Jones for 9th grade was EXCELLENT!! It held my student's interest through the whole course. My only wish is that there was a schedule to help with splitting up this huge book into daily lessons. I had to do a lot of work to figure out how much to do daily in order to finish in a year. This book could easily take 18 months if you did everything that is offered, and we liked it so much that we wanted to do all that was offered! However, to fit it into even 12 months was difficult, and I would have loved a daily schedule like Bob Jones offers in their Writing and Grammar 9 program. That schedule was very helpful. Otherwise, this was a fantastic program that I highly recommend. My 9th and 10th grader completed it together, and we all enjoyed it.

This curriculum was great for giving children a comprehensive view of both the secular history of world but also highlighting how the history of the Church and Christianity have played a role in history.

Attempted to shift from Classical approach Story of the World (after being disappointed with SOTW's lack of true Christian approach) to BJU Social Studies because of solid, trustworthy content but was disappointed - BJU too 'school-like'. Discovered Mystery of History & immediately set aside BJU Social Studies for MOH which was best suited for our learning styles & my teaching style preference.

This is a full-length textbook, to be completed in one semester. We used it with the HomeSat videos, which were very repetitive and each chapter was approximately 5 lessons long. My children (one who is a great reader, and the other who struggles with reading) both had some difficulty keeping up with the work load and the suggested schedule for the video series. If used without the video, this text would be fine for the average student.
