Our family has used this curriculum for both of our children. The most recent edition was updated from our original edition that we purchased. With the older edition I liked that when you studied a phonics rule that the Reader story was an example of that rule. The current Readers are not set up like that, seems to be just stories & continuations of each story. Overall, I still love the curriculum though.
