This is a Biblically accurate curriculum, that chronologically moves through History from Creation (young earth/literal 7 days) to 911 in four volumes. The curriculum includes Bible history as well as secular history, beautifully blending together a complete world history education from a Biblically Christ-centered perspective when applicable. Linda Hobar provides students with three different levels of activities & projects, making it possible for the entire family to be involved in the same curriculum at the same time, yet work at appropriate depths as needed without doubling efforts on the part of the teacher/parent. It's really well planned out. The lessons are usually about one page long, and are very doable with next to nothing for prep work. The extra activities sometimes require a little advance prepping, but all activities are optional. So, it works for those who desire the activities & those who don't. I highly recommend this curriculum.

I think this curriculum is AWESOME!! It is so easy to use. Everything is laid out in an easy to use format. My two oldest children who are in 4th and 6th are currently using it but my kindergartener listens while I teach and loves it too! There are age appropriate activities, quizzes, pre tests, etc. It is an all around great curriculum and my kids are learning the 'mystery of history' through a christ-centered approach. We love it!!

The question regarding money spent over and above the curriculum could be a bit misleading. We LOVE studying history, so we have spent a great deal of time and resources on expanding our study. Every family may not desire to do this, choosing to spend NO money would still afford a complete concise study! Regarding the question about consumable material, we choose to make copies out of the book, I taught my children simultaneously. The curriculum lends to teaching as few or as many children at once in a wide age range. My student's favorite part is the activities at the end of each lesson. They are geared toward different age ranges and many learning styles.

I liked Mystery of History because of its all-inclusive history viewpoint from the beginning of Genesis in the Bible. Other history curriculums start with Ancient History and miss Genesis. As a Christian homeschooler, it is important to me to start with God's history, not man's. Also, this curriculum can be used by any teaching style (i.e., traditional, unschooling, Charlotte Mason, etc.). And it has many ideas to help the student reinforce the information they are learning.

All of my school-aged children, ages 5-14, loved this history. It integrates what we already knew about the Bible times with other things that were going on in the world at the same time. It has different activities for different abilities. Great product!!!

This is a wonderful history program to use with multiple age groups. It has a distinctly Christian perspective on world history and was great for this busy mom and her family!
