The Green Collection is bringing new materials to light, and new lights are bringing new materials to scholars.

While the Green Collection numbers over 40,000 items through new acquisitions, some of the most amazing finds are surfacing through new technology applied to items already in-hand. In this lecture Dr. Carroll summarizes the strength and breadth of the Green Collection and then shows amazing technological applications to some of these items. Research on the Climaci Rescriptus serves as one of the key examples, revealing vividly the earliest forms of Aramaic in Jesus' dialect. Other discoveries come through the dissolving of cartonnage, including Egyptian mummy masks. These are all in addition to the new knowledge gained through traditional scholarship via the various participating universities.
