Hyssop branches are used throughout the Bible for rituals of cleansing and new beginnings. In the time of the Passover, hyssop branches were used to apply the lamb's blood to doorways to separate the Israelites from the Egyptians. (Exodus 12:22)
When David cries out for spiritual cleansing, he asks for hyssop. "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." (Psalm 51:7)
Priests used hyssop branches in ceremonial cleanings in Leviticus 14. While praying for spiritual cleaning and renewal, the fragrance of hyssop anointing oil is a reminder of the power of God to purify and cleanse our hearts and souls. Use a drop of this 1/4 ounce vial each time you need it for your anointing oil ministry.
