Description

Saint Benedict is known as the Patron Saint of Europe, and the founder of Western Christian monasticism. His legacy includes using the sign of the cross to ward off demons. This small crucifix is made with a Saint Benedict Medal to honor the history of the saint, in addition to displaying the image of the crucifix. This small icon can easily be displayed be carried with you or displayed on a wall or a necklace.

The crucifix is packaged with a card printed with the message:

The origin of the Medal of Saint Benedict is very ancient. It certainly was suggested by the fact that the Patriarch used successfully the sign of the cross against the assaults of the Demon, as related by Saint Gregory. Pope Benedict XIV settled the drawing of this medal.

On the face face of the medal is the image of Saint Benedict. In his right hand he holds the cross, the Christian's symbol of salvation. In Benedict's left hand is his Rule for monastic. On a pedestal to the right of Benedict is the  poisoned cup, shattered when he made the sign of the cross over it. On a pedestal to the left is a raven about to carry away a loaf of poisoned bread.

This is a lovely gift to give to someone who is of the catholic faith or keep for yourself to display the words of Saint Benedict.

Please provide a physical street address when you place an order.  Mardel will not accept P.O. Boxes as shipping destinations for online orders, and your order will not be fulfilled until you provide an alternate physical address to our Customer Service team.  Aside from peak seasons, most orders will ship within 1-2 business days and tracking is provided via email when the order is given to the carrier.  Delivery usually takes an additional 3-4 business days, and some locations can take longer for the carrier to complete delivery.
