As the first missionaries sent to a foreign land from the United States, Adoniram and Ann served in Burma (present day Myanmar) for decades. The suffered resistance, persecution, imprisonment, personal loss, and ill health. However, their faithfulness and perseverance led to a church that continues to flourish even today.
Today Myanmar is holds the third largest population of Baptist Christians worldwide. The Judsons' Burmese translation of the Bible is still used in Myanmar.
