Description
Steve McQueen drove a 1968 Highland Green Ford Mustang 390 GT in his iconic film, Bullitt. Join Greg Laurie as he takes a trip in a vehicle of the same make and model in order to explore the roots of Steve McQueen. Traveling through the canyons of Malibu, the alleys of Hollywood, the wide and open roads of the Midwest, and the streets of New York he will trace the geography, life, relationships, career, and spiritual journey of Steve McQueen.

In the 1960s, McQueen was the biggest movie star of his generation, and honored as one of the coolest. Greg Laurie was a teenager when he was first mesmerized by McQueen's performance in 1963's The Great Escape. Now he has the chance to take a look back at the life and legacy to tell the McQueen's true story.

McQueen lived much like he drove his cars and motorcycles: fearlessly, ruthlessly, and at top speeds. After a lifetime of fast cars, women, and drugs, McQueen's life took a dramatic detour.

In Steve McQueen: The Salvation of an American Icon, Laurie interviews McQueen's family, friends, co-stars, associates, widow, and pastor to tell about the life-change that impacted the actor in the spring of 1979, six months before McQueen was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

What crucial steps led to McQueen's major life-change, and why is that part of his story so rarely told?

Greg Laurie follows the way the gospel was sown into McQueen's life as he dives into the complex history and extraordinary life this actor lived.
