But when her father dies, her mom uproots the family to Nashville where everything is different, except A.J.

Kate Kelly grew up in Nashville’s best schools, jetting around the world, and wearing the trendiest clothes from her mother's boutique. When A.J. Smith comes to town, suddenly she is getting all the attention with her unusual sense of style, accent, & converse high tops. Even Kate’s brother, Kaden, is mesmerized with A.J. Kate has more important things to think about, including the reality show Real Life. She wants to make it big, and the producers decide to put A.J. in the show.

Because these girls are from opposite backgrounds, the producers of Real Life know that their differences will be television gold. Kaden asks A.J. to prom, Kate flips out, and things with Kate’s (almost) boyfriend Alex start going downhill, all going on in front of the camera. As the producers try to stir up the drama, Kate’s idea of the perfect prom spins out of control. When Kate’s life goes awry, A.J. who steps in to help. A friendship between the two girls might form, if they be themselves, and stay true to who God made them to be.
