The Hobbit
Thorin Oakenshield and his group of dwarves are on a quest to reclaim the treasures taken from them by the dragon Smaug. Gandalf, the wizard, suggests they take along Bilbo Baggins, an unassuming Hobbit from Hobbiton. Bilbo finds unexpected courage and cunning, and a love of adventure that leads him to a great discovery as he solves riddles in the dark.
The Fellowship of the Ring
Deep in the heart of the Shire, the One Ring finds its way to a new ring bearer. Bilbo Baggins passes off the ring of power to his nephew Frodo Baggins, setting up new adventure.
The Two Towers
The Fellowship is scattered. Some face a fearsome war against the ancient evils of Sauron. Some face off against the wizard Saruman. Frodo and Sam are united in their quest to take the One Ring to Mount Doom in Mordor, now guided by the deceitful Gollum who is enslaved by the darkness of the Ring.
The Return of the King
Sauron threatens to regain his power and conquer all of Middle-earth. Frodo and Sam and facing a difficult task of destroying the ring of power, and defeating Sauron. Meanwhile, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Pippin, and Merry face their own struggles in the epic battle to restore peace to Middle-earth.
