Paul, Apostle of Christ tells the story of two men. Luke (Jim Caviezel) is a friend and physician who risks his life every time he enters the treacherous city of Rome to visit Paul (James Faulkner), who is held captive in Nero's worst prison cell. Before Paul is executed, Luke is compelled to write one more book, one that covers the beginnings of the Way and the dawning of what will come to be known as the church. However, Nero is determined to rid Rome of Christians.
Paul has survived floggings, shipwreck, starvation, stoning, hunger, thirst, cold, and exposure. While he waits for his appointment with death, he is plagued with the shadows of his past. He wonders if he might be forgotten, and if he has the strength to finish the race.
Two men struggle against a determined emperor and the endurance of the human spirit in order to deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ to the surrounding world.
