There is a simple way to find God's unique will for your life.
When you commit yourself to following the universal will of God, your obedience opens up the experience of the unique will of God for your life. This does raise the fundamental question, "What is the universal will of God?"
This book is about the four specific universal commands, or wills, that God reveals. While there is more to God's universal will than these four, this serves as a profound starting point.
What are the four? Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, bestselling author of Love & Respect, teaches readers that when you walk out these four universal wills, your obedience leads you to experience God's unique will from John 6:40, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, 1 Peter 2:13-15, and 1 Thessalonians 4:3:
- Believe in Jesus Christ
- Give thanks in everything
- Submit in doing right
- Abstain from sexual sin
You don't need to worry that you are missing His will when you are doing His universal will and pleasing Him. So long as you are believing in Jesus Christ, giving thanks in everything, submitting in doing right, and abstaining from sexual sin, you have the freedom to do as you wish based on your judgment about what seems good and best.
