According to Catholic tradition, O.L. Fatima is the apparition of the Virgin Mary seen in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. She appeared to three children every month on the same date. She told them God would bring peace to them if her requests were granted. She reveled three secrets to the children foretelling what was to come. Many people in their village did not believe the children's testimony. Several months later, the townspeople traveled to see the miracle. They did so witness the miracle of the sun dancing in the sky. O.L. Fatima is seen as a reminder of peace and to live our life in praying to the rosary.
The medal is made of pewter measuring at 1 1/4 inches. The medal has the design of Fatima on the front and an inscription on the back side. The prayer card reads as follows:
Prayer to O.L. Fatima
Oh my Jesus,
Forgive us our sins, and
save us from the fires of
hell. Lead all souls to heaven,
especially those in most need of
Thy mercy.
Amen.
